1. Ferguson has a ‘better’ night — and protests sweep nation
Protests erupted in Ferguson, Missouri, for a second night over a grand jury's decision not to indict the cop who fatally shot Michael Brown — but Tuesday evening's demonstrations were less destructive than those of Monday night. "Generally, it was a much better night," St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said. At least 44 people were arrested in the protests Tuesday, but Belmar said most of the arrests were for misdemeanors. Meanwhile, protests broke out in cities across the country. Thousands rallied from coast to coast, and hundreds were arrested in several major cities. Read more in NEWS.
2. Cop who shot Michael Brown says he did his ‘job right’
A day after a grand jury decided not to indict him, Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson said there's no way Michael Brown put his hands up during the confrontation that led to Brown's Aug. 9 shooting death. Wilson told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos in an interview excerpt that aired Tuesday he has a "clean conscience" because "I know I did my job right." Wilson has been on paid administrative leave since the shooting. Read more in NEWS.
3. Nor'easter to disrupt already-rough travel day
A winter storm will target the Northeast Wednesday just when millions are planning to take to the roads, rails and skies for Thanksgiving. More than a foot of snow is possible in Massachusetts, while New York City and Washington, D.C., can expect a slushy mix and heavy winds. "Travel is not going to be a lot of fun for people trying to get to Grandma's house on Wednesday," said Kevin Roth, lead meteorologist at The Weather Channel. Read more in WEATHER.
4. Video of police shooting of 12-year-old to be released
Officials will release the video surveillance showing the fatal police shooting of a 12-year-old boy who allegedly reached for what turned out to be a toy gun. Tamir Rice was shot in the torso at a park in Cleveland at 3:30 p.m. Saturday after allegedly refusing to raise his hands away from what they said they thought was a real gun, but turned out to be a BB-gun-like "airsoft" gun. 5. Four polio workers killed by gunmen in Pakistan
Gunmen on motorcycles fatally shot four members of a team dispensing polio vaccines to children, police and hospital officials in Pakistan. Three of those killed were women, and three other people were injured in the attack. Islamist militants have long opposed the vaccination campaign, with some saying it is aimed at sterilizing Muslims. Read more in NEWS.
6.Two FBI agents shot near Ferguson
Two FBI special agents were shot at a barricaded home just miles from the chaotic protests in Ferguson. The agents' injuries were not life threatening, and the incident was "not directly related to the protests," according to an FBI spokeswoman. Read more in NEWS.
