Actress Rosie Perez: Hillary Clinton Ready 'On Day One'

Rosie Perez was in Washington, D.C. for the LULAC conference and spoke to NBC News Latino about her support for Hillary Clinton.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Actress and activist Rosie Perez says Hillary Clinton has "put in her time" as she listed for NBC News Latino the many reasons why she has thrown her support behind Hillary Clinton.

Perez, a former host on "The View," was attending the League of United Latin American Citizens conference Thursday and was in the audience where Clinton spoke to the group and conference goers. LULAC planned to honor Perez on Friday with an award for her lifelong activism.

"I believe that she has put in her time and she is ready. Day one she will be ready for office," Perez said.

Perez was an Academy Award nominee for her role in "Fearless" and is a three-time Emmy nominee for her choreography work on "In Living Color." Her breakout movie was Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing.
