Mom to Boehner: Why do You Want to Deport DREAMers?

The encounter follows a Republican bill which would limit presidential discretion on immigration matters.

Veronica Zavaleta, a member of the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition and a mom whose son has received deferred deportation under the Obama administration's DACA program, confronted House Speaker John Boehner as he was having breakfast.

Zavaleta asked the Republican Ohio congressman why he wanted to "break the dream of the dreamers, of the students," to which Boehner replied that was "not very nice."

Zavaleta was referring to a Republican-led bill approved Wednesday to limit President Obama's executive powers, which he used when he created the deferred deportation program.

"From gutting welfare reform and No Child Left Behind requirements, to refusing to enforce immigration and drug laws, the president's dangerous search for expanded powers appears to be endless," said House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.
