Reggaeton Sensation J Balvin to Receive Prestigious Vision Award

Worldwide reggaeton sensation J Balvin will be honored with the Vision Award at the 2016 Hispanic Heritage Awards.

Worldwide reggaeton sensation J Balvin will be honored with the Vision Award at the 2016 Hispanic Heritage Awards, one of the highest honors Latinos making a global impact.

The Hispanic Heritage Awards will take place September 22, 2016, at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.

José Álvaro Osorio Balvin's music has reached number one slots worldwide, including the record for longest-ever #1 chart-run of a song by a single Latin artist, and #1 music video on Itunes. J Balvin has multiple Grammy, Latin Grammy and Billboard Latin Music awards.

“The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is proud to honor J Balvin with the Vision Award for serving as a role model to youth while setting the music world on fire with his dynamic talents,” said Jose Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation in a statement. “The evening will certainly be entertaining, meaningful and inspirational.”

The honor has been given to Puerto Rican Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, entertainer Angélica María and Dominican American poet Junot Díaz.
