Arizona tour bus swept off road by flash flood

A tour bus was overpowered by a flash flood in northern Arizona and swept into a wash on Sunday, according to authorities with the Kingman, Ariz. fire department.

There were no reports of injuries, according to Kingman Fire Chief Chuck Osterman.

Multiple agencies responded and were able to rescue everyone on board, though Osterman did not know the exact number of people on the bus.

The vehicle was traveling about 40 miles north of Phoenix when heavy rains hit an area of the country that has been under flash flood watch for much of the past two days.

The passengers were traveling between Las Vegas to the Hualapai Skywalk Bridge over the Grand Canyon.

A nearly 18-mile stretch of I-40 between Flagstaff and Kingman was closed off Saturday night because of flash flooding, KPHO-TV reported.
