New York City residents and tourists are hurrying to get a glimpse or a picture with the latest work of art being created during a month-long stay by the British graffiti artist Banksy. Many of the works are quickly defaced by competing graffiti artists or removed to be preserved or sold. Some simply disappear when the performance is over. A few lucky ones got to take an original signed work home.
