Singer Chris Brown and his bodyguard were arrested early Sunday morning outside an upscale hotel in Washington D.C., according to police.

“I'm hosting the Biggest Homecoming Party in DC TONIGHT,” Brown tweeted on Saturday night before his scheduled appearance at Park 14, a swanky event space in downtown D.C.

Apparently the “homecoming party” had an after party, because Brown and his bodyguard got in a early-morning fight with another man outside the W Hotel, just blocks away from Park 14, said D.C. Metro Police Communications Director Gwendolyn Crump.

The brawl happened at 4:35 a.m., and the man who allegedly angered Brown was treated at a local hospital, but later released, said D.C. Metro Police Lt. Joe Trippi.

Trippi said Brown and his guard were arrested and charged with a felony assault and will probably not get a chance to appear in court until Monday.

In 2009, Brown was sentenced to five years’ probation for assaulting his then-girlfriend, Barbados-born songstress, Rihanna, in Hollywood.

But hit and run charges in in Van Nuys, Calif., in July caused Brown’s probation was revoked as he pled not guilty.

In August, Brown’s probation was reinstated and does not end until Aug. 25, 2014.
