Andrea Mitchell reported breaking news this Sunday morning that President Obama, while traveling to Russia for the G20 summit, will not meet with President Vladimir Putin.

The choice comes in light of Russia's decision to grant Edward Snowden asylum and, as David and Andrea discussed this morning, signals a new low in modern relations between the United States and Russia.

Also this morning, a heightened state of alert at U.S. diplomatic posts around the globe because of specific intelligence signaling a terror attack may be imminent.

Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence committee, shed light on the seriousness of the threats saying the "chatter" that was picked up is "very reminiscent of what we saw pre-9/11."

Moreover, he maintained that some of the NSA programs at the center of the debate over privacy are responsible for picking up the terrorist "chatter" that led to the discovery of the plot.

You can watch the entire program on our website including our roundtable discussion with more on the political impact of the embassy closures.

We'll be back next week. If it's Sunday, it's Meet the Press.
