Fifty years since the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, NBC News Special Correspondent Tom Brokaw looks back in his new documentary special “Where Were You the Day JFK Died?” Through various interviews with celebrities, politicians, and journalists, Brokaw seeks to understand the true effect of that day and of JFK the man.

“We now have full realization of how complicated he was, he divided his life into compartments,” said Brokaw. “He was more complex than those magazine covers with that big smile and that beautiful wife.”

Brokaw also offers his response to the many conspiracy theories that surround the assassination of President Kennedy: “I’ve come to the conclusion, based on a fair amount of research at this point, that Oswald shot him and that there was not a straight line conspiracy,” asserts Brokaw. “It’s a dotted line at best”.

You can watch Tom Brokaw’s special “Where Were You?” airing this Friday, November 22nd, at 9PM ET, only on NBC
