Two men and a young woman were stabbed to death in Norway when a knife-wielding man attacked the passengers and driver of a bus north of Oslo, on Monday night, police said.
The victims were a 19-year-old female passenger, a male passenger in his 50s and the bus driver. The three victims were the only other people on the bus at the time, police said.
Firefighters, the first responders to arrive on the scene in Sogn, detained the man — described to be in his 30s, from South Sudan — until police arrived.
The bus was en route between Årdal and Tyin.
Police said the local municipality established a crisis team and is working with police at a temporary emergency post at a community center in Årdalstangen.
The motives of the man were not immediately clear, police said.
The attacker was hospitalized with multiple cuts.
