A driver was killed after his car crashed into a wall at an American sprint car race track in Pennsylvania on Friday.
Sprint car driver James “Jim” Campbell Jr. was killed in an accident during practice laps at the track in Mechanicsburg, Williams Grove Speedway said in a statement. The accident took place in the third corner of the speedway during warm ups on what was promoted as "Kids Night" at the racetrack.
The speedway cancelled the night's races as well as Saturday events "out of the utmost respect for the Campbell family as well as for all speedway employees, staff, management and emergency personnel as they all attempt to deal with the tragedy at hand," the statement said.
