A women's rights group that flew banners over NFL games calling for Commissioner Roger Goodell's resignation over the weekend says his appointment of advisers to fight domestic violence within the league is "too little too late." UltraViolet co-founder Shaunna Thomas said on MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports" that Monday's announcement is a positive development but does not compensate for the fact that he handled the Ray Rice domestic assault case "really deceptively" in the beginning. "Roger Goodell isn’t the right person to run the NFL any longer," Thomas said, adding that the league "can't afford" to have him in a leadership position.
UltraViolet flew a #GoodellMustGo banner over three NFL games on Sunday at a cost of between $2,000 and $3,000 per plane. The group planned to fly one Monday night over Lucas Oil Stadium, where the Indianapolis Colts play the Philadelphia Eagles, but canceled because of weather conditions.
