Victory might never taste so sweet for boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.
The Filipino fighter, who will square off against American rival Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Saturday night, was immortalized in chocolate cake and Rice Krispies in his native Philippines. Staff at The Bunny Baker cafe in suburban Quezon City were putting the finishing touches on the life-sized confection ahead of the much-hyped Mayweather-Pacquiao welterweight slugfest in Las Vegas.
Filipino graphic artist and barista Zach Yonzon told The Associates Press that he wanted to pay homage to the superstar in this over-the-top and tasty way. The entire country will be watching the mega bout — considered a national holiday — on Sunday morning Philippines time.
"Manny Pacquiao is world class, so we wanted to do something equally world class," Yonzon told the AP, "and the only way to do that is to create a cake that was extraordinary."
