Remember when former major leaguer Jose Canseco tweeted about his finger falling off during a poker tournament? And then when he tweeted that he was going to sell the finger -- and the gun with which he severed it -- online? Turns out it was a hoax, per TMZ.
Canseco apparently got the idea when he saw a fake finger in a Halloween store. The initial accident was real, and the finger was reattached successfully. Everything that came after that, though, was fake.
Kudos to Canseco for A) having a sense of humor about the whole thing; and B) successfully bamboozling the lot of us. That’s a heck of a gag.
