Ten people were injured, at least one of them seriously, when a deck collapsed Thursday at a home in Calhoun, Georgia, during a Thanksgiving celebration, authorities said.
Gordon County fire Battalion Chief Heath Derryberry told NBC station WRCB of Chattanooga, Tennessee, that a man was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga with head trauma after he and nine other people fell about 15 feet.
The other patients were being treated at hospitals in Gordon County, Derryberry said.
The Associated Press quoted Derryberry as saying the accident may been caused by poor construction and overcrowding of the deck.
Emergency officials in Gordon County didn't return calls for comment. No other details were immediately available.
