After two months of testimony, the murder case against former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is expected to go to the jury this week in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Hernandez, 25, is charged in the killing of Odin Lloyd, 27, in June 2013, in North Attleborough, Massachusetts. Prosecutors presented no witnesses and never found the murder weapon, but through cellphone records and surveillance video, they sought to prove that Hernandez masterminded the killing in tandem with two other men.
Hernandez's attorneys argued that it made no sense for Hernandez to have wanted to kill Lloyd, whom they characterized as his friend and future brother-in-law.
Hernandez also has pleaded not guilty in a separate 2012 double killing in Boston.
