Georgia and California police are huddling this week to compare notes in the case of Alix Tichelman, the fetish model and call girl charged in the drug overdose death of Google executive Forrest Timothy Hayes last year. Three Santa Cruz, California, officers arrived this week in north Atlanta to work with two detectives for the Milton, Georgia, police, who are investigating the eerily similar death just two months earlier of Dean Riopelle, a nightclub owner who was Tichelman's boyfriend, NBC station WXIA of Atlanta reported.
Milton police Capt. Shawn McCarty said Milton detectives, who never interviewed Tichelman, would be getting their first look at her taped interview with Santa Cruz police, listening to see whether she said anything that could link the two cases. He said they'll also interview a number of new people in relation to Riopelle's death, telling WXIA that after the story made national news last month, Georgia police started getting calls from tipsters.
