Authorities and volunteers are scouring for an autistic 2-year-old who vanished from his home in Searcy, Arkansas, shortly after dark Sunday, according to NBC affiliate KARK in Little Rock.
Scores of volunteers have searched near and around Mike Drummond's home this week. "We've searched backyards, under cars. We went in drains, ditches, storm cellars, anywhere we see a way to get in," family friend Dwight Smith told the station. "God protect him until we find him."
Volunteer coordinator Michelle Atchinson said volunteers have come flooding in from across the state. "He's a child. I have kids. If it was my kid, I couldn't stop 'til I find him," she told the station, fighting back tears. "He's 2. We've gotta find him."
Police say there's no evidence of foul play at this time, but they're looking at all angles in the investigation. Drummond's family is cooperating with investigators.
