Arron Lewis Hunted After Real Estate Agent Beverly Carter Vanishes

Missing Realtor’s Husband: I’d Like to Have My Wife Back 0:59

An arrest warrant was issued late Sunday for a suspect in the disappearance of Arkansas real estate agent Beverly Carter, who vanished after showing a home last week. Arron Lewis, 33, is a person of interest in the case, according to Lt. Carl Minden of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office. Police said Lewis was involved a single-vehicle road accident in Jacksonville, Arkansas, earlier on Sunday and was treated in a local hospital for facial injuries but left before the warrant was issued. "He was not under the guard of law enforcement at that time due to not having any criminal charges at that point," Minden said. Lewis has a criminal history in Kansas and Utah, and was out on parole for felony theft of property charges in Washington County, Arkansas, Minden said. Police originally identified Lewis as Aaron, but later clarified his name was spelled Arron.

Carter, 49, of Scott, Arkansas, was reported missing by her husband, Carl Carter, late Thursday when she didn't return home. The real estate agent went to the appointment excited about the possibility of a cash sale, her husband said. “By 8:00, I knew something was wrong,” Carter said. He went to the property she had been showing and found her car parked in the driveway with her purse inside. A missing poster on a Find Beverly Facebook page says nothing was missing from Carter’s purse and the door to the home was open when her husband arrived. “I went through every closet, everything,” Carter said. “I just want my wife back.”
