Former President George W. Bush and wife Laura said goodbye Saturday to their Scottish Terrier, Miss Beazley.

“This weekend our beloved dog, Miss Beazley, was put to rest after a battle with lymphoma,” the family said in a statement posted on Bush's Facebook page, featuring dozens of photos of the clearly adored canine.

Miss Beazley was born in 2004, and Bush gave her as a gift to his wife for her birthday in 2005, Reuters reported.

Along with her brother, Barney, the presidential pup was very visible in the White House during Bush's presidency and in 2005 starred in the White House Christmas video, "A Very Beazley Christmas."

Barney also died from lymphoma in February 2013, the Bushes said at the time.

"Even though he received all the attention, Beazley never held a grudge against him," the president said, adding, "She was a guardian to our cats, Bob and Bernadette, who — like Laura and I — will miss her.”
