The Coast Guard found four people Wednesday afternoon about 24 hours after their boat was reported missing off Key West, Fla., the service said.

Those on the boat were identified as David Thompson, 48; Adam Kelley, 28; Joshua Thompson, 15; and Evan Thompson, 11. Their hometowns or relationships to one another weren't immediately disclosed.

The Coast Guard said its crew on the scene reported that the boaters were in good spirits and good health after they were found about 40 miles northwest of Key West.

A Coast Guard photo showed the stranded boaters standing and waving as a Coast Guard vessel approached.

The Coast Guard said the boaters had gone snorkeling about 6 miles north of Key West after leaving the Banana Bay Resort and Marina. A relative reported that the 25-foot Grady White vessel didn't return by 4 p.m. Tuesday, as planned.

No further information was immediately provided.
