Demonstrators marched together in plastic six-pack rings to mark Earth Day in Manhattan, N.Y., on Tuesday. Members of the Origami Project, a movement that encourages environmental responsibility by transforming plastic six-pack rings into wearable art, demonstrated being "trapped" in the plastic rings to symbolize birds and and other wildlife caught in trash. The global theme for the 2014 Earth Day is "Green Cities."
