Five children were found safe and a suspect was in custody Wednesday night after a massive search that began when the day care van they were in was stolen in Houston. The five children, ages 3 to 12, were inside the silver SUV when its driver went into a Jack in the Box restaurant, leaving the engine idling, about 6:15 p.m. (7:15 p.m. ET). A man jumped in and drove off, police said.
The children weren't found until 9:15 p.m. almost 15 miles away in neighboring Fort Bend County, police said. They said only that the children were safe and that a suspect had been arrested.
