NEW YORK — Nine people were shot when unknown gunmen opened fire at a backyard party in Brooklyn, police said early Sunday.
The NYPD said the victims — between the ages of 19 and 38 — were taken to area hospitals and that none of their injuries were believed to be life threatening. An additional four people were being treated for scrapes and bruises, police added.
Police said officers were investigating the shooting. Officials did not provide further details on how many shooters were involved or a possible motive, saying only that "unknown males" had opened fire at the house in the East New York section of Brooklyn.
