The mother of a 15-month-old girl who wandered away from home to the edge of a Georgia highway said Tuesday that she and her husband were not bad parents. "We have four children and they're all loved and well taken care of," Denise Pickens said. "Our whole world is revolved around all of them... Her daddy is not a bad person," she added, while also thanking the man who rescued the child.
An ex-con who turned his life around after spending a decade in federal lockup for drugs is being hailed as a hero after he saved the girl.
