NTSB Analyzing Black Boxes from Wrong Airport Flight

The National Transportation Safety Board has tweeted a photograph of the recorders from Southwest Flight 4013, which landed at the wrong Missouri Airport on Sunday night. Investigators will analyze the so-called black boxes, which are actually orange, to help figure out how the mixup happened.

Among the possible factors they are likely to examine is the presence of a third person in the cockpit, an airline dispatcher who was authorized to be there. The voice recorder will reveal if the crew complied with federal rules that prohibit any discussion other than "work" below 10,000 feet.
