Pilots Injured in Mid-Air Plane Crash in Alaska

The NTSB is investigating the mid-air collision that occurred between an Alaska Wildlife Trooper plane and another aircraft near Anchorage.

Two pilots were injured after two planes collided in mid-air above Alaska’s Matanuska-Susitna Valley and crashed, authorities said.

Both pilots are alive but one is seriously injured after two Piper PA-18 airplanes, one of which was an Alaska Wildlife Trooper aircraft, collided at around 1 p.m. Saturday, Alaska State Troopers and the National Transportation Safety Board said. The names of the injured pilots were not released, but one of them is a wildlife trooper. The pilots were the only ones aboard both crafts.

The NTSB is investigating the cause of the crash.
