Three people died when a small plane crashed in southwestern Minnesota on Monday night, officials said.
The aircraft went down in a corn field south of Holland, which is located 20 miles from the South Dakota border, the Pipestone County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
Rescue crews rushed to the site of the crash after receiving a call at 8:13 p.m. local time (9:13 p.m. ET). They found the pilot and two passengers dead at the scene, authorities said.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating alongside the sheriff's office.
