First Reported Case of Sexually Transmitted Zika in U.S.

Health officials in Dallas reported the first known case of sexual transmission of Zika in the current outbreak Tuesday. As a result, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned Friday that men who have traveled to Zika-affected zones should use a condom if they want to be absolutely sure they don't infect sex partners.

Serial Podcast's Adnan Sayed's First Conviction Hearing

Podcast star and convicted killer Adnan Syed isbeing given the chance to clear his name during a post-conviction hearing that could determine whether or not he gets a new trial. The hearing in Baltimore City Circuit Court has centered around two key topics: a potential new alibi witness and reexamination of cellphone evidence. The hearing, which started Wednesday, was slated to last three days, but will reconvene Monday morning.

Iowa Caucuses

Hillary Clinton eked out a victory over Bernie Sanders in what was the closest Democratic caucus in Iowa's history. Meanwhile, Sen. Ted Cruz proved the polls and pundits wrong by defeating Donald Trump.

Fifth Democratic Debate

What does it mean to be a Democrat? What does it mean to be a progressive? Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders hashed it out Thursday night in their most explosive debate to date. The MSNBC-hosted debate came days before New Hampshire voters choose who they will support in the state's primary.

'Affluenza' Teen Ethan Couch Moved to Adult Jail

Ethan Couch, 18, the Texas teenager whose lawyers infamously invoked an "affluenza" defense while he was on trial for a fatal drunken-driving crash wasmoved from a juvenile detention facility to an adult jail Friday. The move does not mean that Couch's probation case will be transferred to the adult system, which will be decided during a scheduled Feb. 19 hearing.
