A woman who sneaked onto a flight from San Jose to Los Angeles last month was arrested Tuesday at a Phoenix airport where she was spotted near a baggage claim area without a ticket, Phoenix police said.

Police said they arrested Marilyn Hartman, 62, at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday after she was previously seen trying to go through Sky Harbor International Airport's security checkpoint without a ticket on Aug. 20 and warned not to return. Hartman was booked on a count of criminal trespass and officials have asked that a mental health evaluation be conducted. It is unclear how Hartman traveled to Sky Harbor; police said they have no information that she was on a flight before her arrest.

Hartman was arrested twice in one week in California earlier in August — once after she boarded a flight from San Jose to Los Angeles, and days later when she was spotted wandering from terminal to terminal without a ticket at Los Angeles International Airport. Hartman chose to accept a 177-day jail sentence for those incidents, but was released days later due to prison overcrowding, Los Angeles City Attorney spokesperson Frank Mateljan said. Hartman has a history of trying to get on flights without a pass, and told officials last month she was trying to get to Hawaii.
