A Jamaican man believed wanted in a gun battle that left four dead at a Los Angeles birthday party was arrested Friday, one day after being placed in the FBI’s most-wanted fugitives list, law enforcement officials said.

Marlon Jones was arrested by an FBI and Los Angeles Police Department fugitive task force following a chase on the 110 freeway in South Los Angeles at around 7 p.m. local time (10 p.m. ET), authorities said.

Jones is the suspected triggerman in an Oct. 15 gun battle that left four people dead at a home that had been temporarily been converted into restaurant.

Jones was taken to a hospital for treatment of a broken leg, officials said. More details about how he suffered the injury were not immediately available.

Jones was placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list on Thursday. A reward of up to $100,000 was offered. Jones was wanted on four counts of murder, the FBI has said.

The FBI said in a statement that the task force received information about Jones’ location following widespread publicity.

Los Angeles police say rival gang members, which included Jones, became embroiled in an argument at the gathering in the West Adams section of Los Angeles, and they later came back armed.

In addition to the four people who died, 10 others were wounded in the gunfire, authorities said.

Two men, Jamaican nationals, were initially arrested on suspicion of murder but were later released without charges despite eyewitness accounts and video of the incident.
