One person was killed and seven others were injured during a shooting at a Tampa nightclub early Saturday, police said.

Authorities were searching for the suspect or suspects who opened fire at Club Rayne, a strip club just north of Tampa's downtown, at about 2 a.m., said Lt. Ruth Cate, of the Tampa Police Department.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Eight people suffered gunshot wounds, Crime Stoppers said in a statement. One person died, and seven people were being treated at area hospitals, the statement said.

Tampa police spokesman Stephen Hegarty told The Associated Press that the victims' injuries range from "minor to very serious."

He identified them as Restaycia Carnegie, 20; Sheila McFadden, 17; Lancinet Stephens, 20; Equanzick Howell, 28; Jose Humphrey, 32; Christopher Houston, 20; and Mekyala Mann, 24.

The name of the deceased victim has not been released.

Calls to a number listed for Club Rayne — described by online reviewers as "adult entertainment" with a "clean environment" — went unanswered Saturday afternoon.
