Dozens of opponents of undocumented immigration faced off against pro-immigration demonstrators in Murrieta, California, on Monday, with both sides hurling insults at each other as the police kept them at a distance.

Angry protesters first blocked busloads of undocumented immigrants last week as U.S. Customs and Border Patrol tried to transport them to a processing facility in the area. Protesters say they are concerned that the immigrants, most of whom come from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, will be released into their community while they wait for their cases to be processed in court – a process that could take years.
