Three Arkansas college students were killed and three more were injured when the car they were in was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on an interstate early Saturday morning, authorities said.
Arkansas State Police told NBC station KTAL the accident happened on Interstate 30 at 1:45 a.m., as the Mazda carrying the six students was trying to reenter the highway after stopping to change a flat tire.
Texarkana College and Texas A&M University Texarkana identified the three students killed as Sofia George, a student at Texarkana College and A&M students Daniel Gonzalez and Nathaniel Rodriguez. Three other students whose names were not released were hurt and taken to an area hospital, KTAL reported.
