Two days of wild weather around the country were topped off Monday by two tornadoes, which were spotted touching down in Denver, Colorado, weather officials said. The first twister was seen around 3:55 p.m. MT (5:55 ET), about eight miles northwest of the city's international airport, according to the Weather Channel. NBC Denver affiliate KUSA reported that airport passengers were sheltered until the tornado threat passed.

Earlier, in Massachusetts, a rare tornado ripped roofs off houses and uprooted trees. That tornado, an EF-2 according to the National Weather Service, touched down in Revere, a coastal city of nearly 52,000 residents just north of Boston, at about 9:30 a.m. ET. City officials said several people suffered minor injuries — including a baby who was in a car and hurt by flying glass and an elderly woman who suffered cuts.

Monday and Sunday brought rough weather to many communities across the country: In eastern Tennessee, at least 10 homes were destroyed; large hail was reported in Michigan; roads were blocked by flash flooding in Ohio; overnight storms knocked out power to thousands of residents in Pennsylvania; and a rare, unannounced summer thunderstorm on Venice Beach, California, produced lightning that injured more than a dozen people and left a 21-year-old man dead.
