A tornado killed two people in the small northeastern Oklahoma town of Quapaw on Sunday, officials said.
The tornado was one of several spawned by a large storm front moving through the Midwest and South. There have been no other reported deaths due to the storms.
Keli Cain of the Oklahoma Emergency Management Agency told The Weather Channel there was extensive damage to the north side of town.
The fire station and numerous other buildings were destroyed, she said. The state Highway Patrol confirmed there were injuries but did not provide details.
