It was not the wild thing the kids were expecting.
President Barack Obama was reading “Where the Wild Things Are,” the Maurice Sendak children’s classic, to some kids at the White House Easter egg roll Monday when he was upstaged by a bee.
The children shrieked. “Oh, no! It’s a bee!” the president shouted. “That’s OK, guys. Bees are good. They won’t land on you. They won’t sting you.”
When the shrieking continued, Obama chuckled and said: “Hold on, hold on! You guys are wild things! You’re not supposed to be scared of bees!”
