A 14-year-old Wisconsin girl has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly cutting another teen's throat, telling her victim she was a psychopath committing her first kill, and that she would likely kill again, according to court records.
The victim survived. The 14-year-old, who is not being identified by NBC News because of her age, is charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide, according to St. Croix County Circuit Court records.
The attack happened in the town of New Richmond Wednesday. The 14-year-old allegedly rode her bike over to the victim’s house and attacked the victim, 15, as she slept, breaking bowls over her head and using the shards as knives.
Half-way through the two-hour onslaught, the 15-year-old victim recognized her accused attacker, the victim told police, according to the records.
After repeatedly cutting the victim's throat, the accused attacker allegedly asked the bleeding teen if she wanted to "die now" or "bleed out," according to the records.
The victim, who told police later she believed she was going to die, chose the latter option and told the departing attacker to have a nice day.
"Have a nice afterlife," the accused teen replied, the victim told police, according to the records.
The 14-year-old is being held in the county's juvenile jail, police said.
Cops first crossed paths with the accused attacker on Wednesday when they responded to reports of a possible abduction at her home in Star Prairie.
The 14-year-old initially told officers she had been assaulted by two men wearing "dark ski masks, armed with a knife" and driving a green pickup truck, according to the records. The girl claimed to police that in order to ward off her attackers she told them "to go to her brother's girlfriend's house where they would find a female home alone," the records state.
Police arrived at the girlfriend's trailer in New Richmond, Wisconsin, found the girl bleeding from the face and neck and rushed her to the hospital. There she identified her alleged attacker, police said in the documents.
Asked later why she attacked her brother's girlfriend, the accused teen allegedly answered, "I hate her."
The accused teen told police she used the broken bowl to cut her victim's throat at least four times, according to the records. She allegedly told police she planned the attack for about a week and a half.
The 14-year-old told police she didn’t want the girl to die in the end, and made up the story to explain her injuries and so police and help would arrive, according to the records.
The girl's mother told The Associated Press in a brief telephone interview: "We had no clue. There were no signs. We're all very, very sad." She declined to comment further about the case.
