Young Jeezy Arrested on Weapons Charge After Killing at Wiz Khalifa Show

California police stressed that no arrests have been made in connection with the backstage homicide itself Friday night.

Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist Young Jeezy was held on $1 million bail Monday after he was arrested on a weapons charge in the investigation of a fatal shooting at fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa's concert last week in Mountain View, California, authorities told NBC News on Monday.

Jeezy, 36 — real name Jay Wayne Jenkins — was taken into custody with five other people in Irvine, California, where he performed Sunday night and where police executed a search warrant on his tour bus. He was being held in the Orange County jail pending a court appearance Tuesday.

Mountain View police said Jeezy was detained only on suspicion of possession of illegal weapons and stressed that no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting death of Eric Johnson, 38, of Oakland, backstage at Wiz Khalifa's show Friday night at Shoreline Amphitheater.
