Two Critically Hurt as Severe Thunderstorm Hits Virginia Beach

A severe thunderstorm slammed Virginia Beach's oceanfront on Thursday, injuring at least ten people and leaving two in critical condition, NBC station WAVY reported.

Officials said the damage was focused on a five-block radius, which was littered with debris and downed trees. A "mass-casualty bus" was dispatched but none of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening. β€œ[The storm] came in fast loud,” Virginia Beach resident Reese Goldstein told WAVY. β€œIt was storming really bad ... All the sudden the glass shattered on the door and then the window right next to the door blew out behind me.”
