An Airbus military plane crashed near Seville airport in Spain on Saturday, killing four people, officials said.

All the passengers aboard the A400M were Airbus employees, the company said. An Interior Ministry spokeswoman told The Associated Press that two crew members had been rescued and taken to hospitals in serious condition.

The crash happened a mile north of Seville airport after the plane, which was headed to Turkey, developed a fault, the AP reported. Britain's Ministry of Defense temporarily suspended use of Britain's two A400Ms afterwards.

A400M airlifters perform tactical missions, long-range logistic missions, and can serve as air-to-air refueling tankers.
