Anti-austerity protesters clash with police blocking their way towards the venue of the European Union's informal meeting of Ministers for Economic and Financial Affairs in Athens on Tuesday.

Despite protests being banned by authorities, some 7,500 anti-austerity demonstrators held three separate protests outside the exclusion zone, where some tried to break through a riot police cordon blocking their way to Parliament. Eurozone officials today urged France's incoming government to stick to reform pledges, and Greece to capitalize on its painful austerity sacrifices.
