Police investigating the murder of two British tourists on a Thai beach have been unable to find a DNA match to anyone questioned in connection with the case, officials said Thursday. Police took samples from at least 11 migrant workers from Myanmar on the island of Koh Tao as well as the British roommate of the male victim. But none matched DNA found on the body of 23-year-old victim Hannah Witheridge, according to Pornchai Sutheerakune, chief of the Thai Institute of Forensic Medicine in Bangkok. Sutheerakune told NBC News on Thursday that Witheridge had semen from two different men on her body, but it did not match male victim David Miller, his 25-year-old roommate nor any of the migrant workers.

Witheridge and Miller, 24, were found half-naked and bloodied on the beach early Monday. Miller had deep wounds to the back of his head and Witheridge suffered injuries to her face. A bloodied hoe was found nearby. The autopsy showed Miller also had water in his lungs and wounds to his hands, indicating he drowned after a struggle, Sutheerakune said.
