Pope Francis became an honorary member of the Harlem Globetrotters on Tuesday after the legendary team presented him with a framed custom jersey at the Vatican.
The Globetrotters, who were on a tour of Italy, showed off their moves for fans at St. Peters' Square — even letting the pontiff try his hand at their signature spin. The players gave the pope a jersey bearing the number 90 and his name, "Pope Francis."
Francis isn't the first pope to become an honorary team member of the Globetrotters. In 2000, the team paid homage to Pope John Paul II.
