Suspected criminals are being held in handcuffs at a public park in Colombia's capital because of overcrowding at a detention center, The Associated Press reported Friday.

A children’s playground in the Bogota park has been converted into a makeshift holding area. The prisoners, who are suspected of crimes ranging from robbery to drug trafficking, are guarded by groups of six police officers who switch after eight hour shifts. Human rights groups are calling the practice inhumane and parents are complaining they can't take their kids to the park anymore.
