Suspect Brought to U.S. on Charges in Iraq Bombing That Killed Troops

Faruq Khalil Muhammed was brought to the U.S. and will face charges in the deadly truck bomb attack in Mosul in 2009.

A man accused of taking part in a deadly attack on American forces in Iraq has been brought to the U.S. to face the charges, federal officials said.

Faruq Khalil Muhammed will appear in federal court in Brooklyn Saturday to face conspiracy charges stemming from a 2009 truck bomb attack in Mosul that killed five U.S. servicemen.

He's charged with orchestrating the attack on the U.S. forward operating base in Mosul on April 10, 2009. A truck drove to the gate and detonated its load of explosives alongside the last vehicle in a US convoy, leaving a 60-foot crater.
