Funeral for Medal of Honor recipient Nicholas Oresko

 

The funeral service for Army Master Sgt. Nicholas Oresko, a World War II Medal of Honor recipient was held today. He received the Medal of Honor for heroics during the Battle of the Bulge in 1945—while badly wounded he single-handedly took out two enemy bunkers. The Medal of Honor is the nation's highest military honor, awarded by Congress for risk of life in combat beyond the call of duty.
