The "designated survivor" for tonight's State of the Union address has been named, and it's Department of Homeland Security head Jeh Johnson.

Each year, a member of the president's cabinet sits out the speech in case of a catastrophic event that wipes out the rest of the line of presidential succession.

Johnson has served as the head of DHS since 2013.
