Call it an executive power: Not having to wait in line at one of Austin's most famous BBQ joints.

President Barack Obama hit up Franklin BBQ in the Texas capital Thursday after giving remarks on the economy.

The restaurant is famed nationwide for its brisket and other offerings, typically attracting long lines of hungry locals and tourists hours before mealtimes.

Apologizing to a couple at the front of the line for cutting in front of them, Obama offered to buy them lunch -- along with a big order of takeout to take on Air Force One. The total order came to over $300, per the White House pool.
