President Barack Obama’s love of sports, usually an asset when connecting with the American people, failed him Friday when he unwittingly combined the name of a Hollywood actor with an NFL quarterback.

“I think it says something interesting about North Korea that they decided to have the state mount an all-out assault on a movie studio because of a satirical movie starring Seth Rogen and James Flacco,” he said. “I love Seth, and I love James. But the notion that that was a threat to them gives you some sense, I think, of the kind of regime we’re talking about here.”

The “James” that Obama said he loves is actually James Franco, star of the recently yanked movie “The Interview.” But, after beginning his press conference with a football metaphor, he may have had Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco on his mind.
